Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an ancient healing art. It can provide deep relaxation and stress reduction through the energy centers in our body. When we are deeply relaxed, our body has the ability to heal itself on many levels: emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual.
The life force energy (known as Ki) is responsive to our thoughts and feelings. This life force energy flows in our physical body through our chakras (pronounced shock-rahs),along the meridian lines, and also in a field of energy around us known as our aura.
Our chakras are spinning wheels of subtle energy that feed the meridian lines throughout our body. Negative feelings or thoughts can block the chakras reducing the amount of subtle energy they are able to provide.
Negative thoughts patterns can attribute to physical illness, block our ability to love self or others, lower our self-esteem, limit our personal & career potential, perpetuate cycles of fear, depression, anxiety, and also halt our spiritual growth.
When these experiences build up, they upset the human energy system and block the flow of energy in our bodies. Stress can be present on a sub-conscious level or conscious level. Stress is a major contributor to physical aliments, illness, and disease.
Reiki goes to where it is needed most in our body, removing these energy blockages, and restoring balance. It will work on the root cause of the issue as it treats the whole person.
Reiki is a complimentary/adjunctive therapy to be used along with traditional wellness techniques or in combination with any treatment you are receiving from a physician, psychologist, or other alternative therapists.
During a Reiki treatment you will be fully clothed and can either sit in a chair or lay down on a Reiki table. Laying down is preferred so your body can maximize relaxation.
